Scott Morrison (Scott John Morrison) or ScoMo as he is better known, was born on 13 May 1968. During his more than ten years in the parliament, ScoMo has established a reputation as a passionate advocate for his local community as well as a proven fixer for difficult policy problems in three senior Cabinet portfolios.

Scott Morrison was sworn in as Prime Minister of Australia on 24 August 2018 after being elected leader of the Liberal Party. He was first elected as the Federal Member for Cook in 2007.

Scott Morrison was born in Waverley on 13 May 1968 and had a career as a child actor in TV commercials in the 1970s, reportedly advertising Vicks Vapour Rub, among other fine products.

His father was a policeman and his mother worked in administrative positions. They ran youth programs for the local church. His father also worked as a local-government councillor for 16 years.

At nine, he was handing out “how to vote” pamphlets on behalf of his father, a policeman turned local councillor and mayor. After studying applied economic geography at the University of New South Wales, he entered the tourism industry.

Scott Morrison was sworn in as Prime Minister of Australia on 24 August 2018 after being elected leader of the Liberal Party. He was first elected as the Federal Member for Cook in 2007.
