Theresa May - UK Conservative Party Politics Headline News Today

Theresa May became British prime minister in 2016 because of the Brexit vote in which the country decided to leave the European Union. Her predecessor, David Cameron, resigned when voters rejected his advice and opted to quit the EU after more than four decades of membership. May’s entire premiership has been devoted to making Britain’s departure happen.

“Brexit is like a Pac Man that’s consuming everything, “Allison said. “And one of the problems is that if we find a fudge on Brexit, that won’t stop the debate. We could be having this war for the next 10 years.”

Russian Armed Forces announced the complete liberation of Syria from ISIS

The number of Russian civilians travelling to Syria, where Moscow is running a military operation in support of President Bashar al-Assad, reached record levels this year, according to official figures published by a Russian security service. The number of Russian civilian trips to Syria grew after President Vladimir Putin announced a partial withdrawal of troops last December, an increase apparently indicating an expansion of Moscow’s activities in the country.

Russian S-500 Prometey Surface-to-Air Missile, Anti-Ballistic Missile System (Top) vs F-35 (Left) and US F-22 (Right)

"It is safe to say already now that Russia has created the world's first multi-stage air defense system, that will reliably protect the country from massive missile strikes," Zvezda TV station stated. "The S-500 will analyze information about a possible missile attack obtained by early warning satellites and over-the-horizon radars, such as the Voronezh, as well as select targets, in terms of their importance, cut off false targets at a great distance, accompany all this and finally issue target designations to various systems."

Comparison - US F-22s, B-2 Bombers vs. Russian S-300

S-300 and its follow-on systems are some of the most capable and dangerous air defenses an opposing air force could ever face. Not only are the missiles mobile, but the systems are networked together. One S-300 battery is a handful, but several such systems networked together into an integrated air defense system is a nearly insurmountable challenge for most fourth-generation fighters like the F-16 or F-15. The S-300 series is deadly. “A complete game changer for all fourth-gen aircraft [like the F-15, F-16 and F/A-18]. That thing is a beast and you don’t want to get near it.”

Angela Merkel - Politics News in Germany

Chancellor Angela Merkel hopes a new immigration law will make it easier for foreign workers to find jobs in Germany, but her push to fill a record number of vacancies risks angering voters who still resent her open-door refugee policy. “Companies should not be leaving the country because they can’t find staff,” Merkel said, adding that many entrepreneurs were more concerned about hiring skilled workers than getting tax relief.

Huron Valley Correctional Facility - US News

On the night she ended her life, Janika Edmond asked her guards at the Huron Valley Correctional Facility for a suicide prevention vest, according to her family's attorney David Steingold.Edmond was 25 years old and was nearly finished serving time for violating parole following past convictions of assault, breaking and entering and resisting police officers.

Records from the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) and Steingold show Edmond spent her sentence dealing with clinical depression, bipolar disorder and suicidal thoughts, all of which were the aftermath of a deluge of emotional and financial problems she experienced as a child.Steingold went on to detail Edmond’s request on Nov. 2, 2015, for the suicide prevention vest — a bulky smock with straps known as a Bam Bam suit — and prison guards’ dismissive reactions. He even referenced a bet placed by prison staff members on the likelihood of Edmond’s success in receiving a vest.

Just 20 minutes later, Edmond was found deceased. Washtenaw County vital records confirm she was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital four days later on Nov. 6.

Palestine, Palestinians Protest Against Israeli Troops - Gaza Protests

“The demolition of this small Palestinian village would not only affect a local community,” EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini recently told the European Parliament. “It would also be a blow against the viability of the state of Palestine and against the very possibility of a two-state solution.”

Separately, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom warned in a rare joint statement that demolition would have “very serious” consequences.

Brexit - UK Politics News

Opponents of Brexit fear that leaving the bloc will weaken what remains of Britain’s global influence, further undermine its reputation as a haven for investment and hurt the economy for years to come. A “no-deal” Brexit, the government cautioned, would make life for UK citizens and businesses more complicated, more expensive and more bureaucratic.

Donald Trump - USA Politics News Headline

U.S. President Donald Trump must recognize that getting his way across the subcontinent could bring down a fragile edifice, one that has been propped up by delicate presidential balancing acts since the days of the Truman administration. The problem, of course, is that Trump’s clear tilt toward India will hardly halt Pakistan’s continued drift toward neighboring China and Russia.

Russian armoured personnel carriers supporting Syrian government troops

Chased out of their own homelands and targeted in both Afghanistan and Pakistan, experienced foreign jihadists embraced Syria's war as their own starting around 2013, two years into the conflict.

Many joined the Islamic State group but others stuck by Al-Qaeda and its former Syrian affiliate -- which now leads the powerful Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) alliance dominating Idlib.

Vladimir Putin - Russia Politics News Headlines

Russia’s ruling United Russia Party suffered a rare setback in regional elections despite winning most of the seats, a reversal its leaders and election chiefs blamed on unpopular plans to raise the pension age. “... There’s a heated public discussion in society right now about a whole raft of changes, including changes to pension law. That undoubtedly ratcheted up the intensity of the campaign and of the political battle,” Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said.

Democratic Alliance DA - South Africa Politics News Headlines

Janet Heard, managing editor of The Daily Maverick: "I think the DA took a lot for granted in just assuming that they have the trust of the public who supported them. They weren't used to being questioned by that support base and it seemed like they couldn't believe that they were being challenged on their transparency (in dealing with the De Lille matter)."
