President Nicolas Maduro stressed that the country does not need the “support” of Washington, which is trying to organize a coup d’état in the republic.
There are continued threats from the States to the Venezuelan military, who support Maduro. Donald Trump confirmed once again that the officers will lose everything if they do not side with the self-proclaimed leader Juan Guaydo.
According to the head of the White House, the United States would prefer a peaceful transfer of power in Venezuela, but they consider “all possible options.”
Earlier, the head of the National Assembly of Venezuela, Juan Guaydo, who proclaimed himself president of the country, said that three US Air Force planes had arrived in Colombia with assistance for Venezuela.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that Moscow considers the US help to Venezuelans as a provocation.
Instead, the diplomat said, Washington could lift the sanctions and unlock the accounts of state enterprises of the republic.
It became known earlier that within the UN a group was created to support Venezuela, which included fifty states. Among them – Russia, China, Iran and Syria. The group declares its goal to protect the state from foreign intervention, which is roughly carried out by the United States and its allies.
The crisis in Venezuela moved to a new stage on January 23, where local oppositionist Juan Guaido declared himself president of the country, immediately receiving US support. Caracas in response to this severed diplomatic relations with Washington.
Russia, China, Mexico, Turkey and a number of other countries supported the legitimate authority of Venezuela.
